PRESS: Russia’s AvtoVAZ to start exports to EU Sep–Oct
MOSCOW, Jun 11 (PRIME) -- Russian car producer AvtoVAZ is looking for distributors who would start exports to the E.U. in September–October, news daily Izvestiya reported Thursday, citing CEO Bo Andersson.
After the breakup of the USSR, AvtoVAZ’ vehicles were sold unsystematically; there was no control over brand reputation abroad and no post-sale services, an official of the company told Izvestiya. “Now, the producer is revising its entire distribution policies for virtually all exports to drive them to the level of internationally acclaimed producers,” the official said.
In autumn 2014, the supplies of AvtoVAZ cars halted due to non-compliance with the E.U. environment and safety rules.
“The products are ready but exports are an entirely different issue, we need a right partner. Now we are developing a distribution network across the entire world. And I’d rather there are fewer of them but they would be more organized than many of them working in vain,” Andersson said. The cars now meet the E.U. norms, he said.
The company has already chosen its representatives in Hungary and the Czech Republic, Andersson told Izvestiya.
